I have to admit that when I was a college student I was highly addicted to coffee and energy drinks. Somehow I would always seem to procrastinate to the last minute and would be up all night studying and drowning in Red Bulls and coffee. I have to say that I felt horrible on the next day with serious jitters, eyes blood shot, and breath smelling like stale milk and coffee beans. Now it took a while but I have finally rid myself of both coffee and energy drinks and have found some very useful ways to get a boost of natural energy. Here they are and I hope you enjoy

Many times when we set out with new workout goals, we run the risk of getting burnt out along the way. First you miss a day, then two, then you miss a whole week and are right back to square one. If you were like me in the past that week would turn into months. Now that I’m back and focused I’m truly looking forward to workouts and there are a couple of things that have really kept me motivated that I want to share with you today.
1. Find a friend who will hold you accountable. This one is easy for everyone. Even if you don’t have any friends who workout, you can find one at hundreds of different websites like Daily Burn. I check in with my friend during the week and after each workout with a quick text message. This keeps me motivated by keeping me accountable for sticking it out and motivates him to get on his workouts. This by far is the most effective and simple ways to stay motivated.
2. Rid your house of bad food. Nothing sabotages a workout plan more than unhealthy eating habits. If you are used to eating cookies and milk and watching TV after work, then you are in trouble. Combining bad food choices with working out is like trying to dig for buried treasure with a spoon instead of a shovel. The best thing to do is to clear out all the bad food from your fridge and shelves. Don’t go back and buy more later next time you’re at the grocery store. If you have a roommate, then let them know what’s going on and if they don’t want to participate, just let them know that you won’t be splitting the cost of any bad food with them. Stock up on fruits and healthy snacks. If you do slip up at work and eat bad food, it won’t be nearly as bad as having it at home, because we tend to over indulge or eat when we are bored.

“If we all did the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.” – Thomas A. Edison
So this post will be really short. It’s just to let you know that I am still on my path to 90 days. Next Tuesday marks Day 30, which I am very much looking forward too. Working out consistently has been an extremely difficult task as it has been challenging to stay motivated. But I am committed to achieving 90 days.
So far I can tell that my body has begun changing and is starting to shape up. I hadn’t worked out in well over 6 months before beging P90X and I have had a ton of fat to trim. It is quite inspiring to see the fat begin to disappear from my stomach and now it is nearly flat.
I just need to keep at it and keep getting motivation from you all. This next week is going to be a recovery week, so mostly cardio and yoga. I’m looking forward to it, as these are the activities that are going to continue to trim the fat. I’ll check back in on day 60 with some photos. That is the day that I am supposed to see some real results.
